Renewal, first passport and children’s passports
Adults whose passport was issued at 16 or older within the last 15 years and is undamaged can usually renew with Form DS-82, and many can renew online. First passports, children under 16 and lost or damaged passports require Form DS-11 in person.
Note: once an online renewal is submitted, the old passport is cancelled and cannot be used for travel. Online renewal offers routine processing only.

QuoteDetails (Chinese)Passport and visa questions
I became a U.S. citizen. Do I need a visa for China?
Yes. China does not recognize dual nationality, so your Chinese passport is no longer valid after naturalization. You will need a Chinese visa unless you qualify for 240-hour transit.
My child was born in the U.S. Visa or travel document?
If neither Chinese parent had a green card or foreign citizenship when the child was born, the child applies for a Chinese travel document. Otherwise the child generally applies for a visa. Call us to confirm.
Can passports be handled remotely?
No. Passports and Chinese travel documents must be handled in our office. China visas can be handled remotely from any state.
Do I need an appointment for passport photos?
No. Walk in and photos are ready in about five minutes, sized for the country you need.
